Choo Choo!!!

Welcome, welcome party goers.

So glad you have found me on the ScrapMatters birthday blog train.

I cannot belive that ScrapMatters is already a year old!

I am so excited that you have stopped here to celebrate with me.

Birthdays are a pretty special time in our family...we enjoy making everyone FEEL important on their birthday.

My favorite birthday tradition comes from my Korean heritage. On the first birthday we have a little ceremony and get dressed up in our Korean best.

Before the birthday child is placed three bowls...one holds noodles, one holds pencils and one holds money.

We then allow the child to choose their "destiny." The noodles symbolize long life, the pencils symbolize intelligence, and the money symbolizes wealth.

We have had four of our children choose pencils and two choose noodles. And of course, me being the classic overachiever, I choose pencils and money. LOL!

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Here is my contribution to brag book.

**link has expired** however, it is still availabe at http://denisebeattyoriginals.blogspot.com

If you are following along the blog train, you should have come to me from Lisa's blog.

And if you are continuing on, your next stop is Kim's blog.

If you get lost, the first stop is the ScrapMatters blog.

And, if not all the postings are active, please be patient...with so many stops in so many different time zones...it takes some coordination!

But no worries, all the pages will be active for AT LEAST a week (mine will be up longer).

Love your part. So thanks for your gift.

Love your tradition. The way my finances are or more correctly are not, I'd have to choose the money. Think it would work for me? LOL
